eBay and Drop shipping, A Marriage Made In Heaven?

November 30th, 2007

by: Ron Keegan

Believe it or not, eBay is the ‘BEST’ opportunity you can use right now to make money online in the drop shipping business from the comfort of your own home.

Thousands of people just like you use eBay auctions on a daily basis to sell and buy products on the Internet; now it’s your time to START your own drop shipping home-based business and succeed in the eBay auctions ‘game’!

There are no special skills required for this drop shipping business, all you need is a computer, Internet access and some basic computer / Internet knowledge.

Drop shipping is when you sell products on the Web, forward the orders to the drop ship supplier and, in return, the drop shipper ships the product to your customer (buyer).

You act as the middleman between the drop shipping supplier and your buyer. You can take orders by credit card, PayPal fax or any other method you can think of. You can sell via your own Web Site, Yahoo store, or even through e-mails.

Your profit is generated on the difference between your selling price and the price the drop shipping supplier charges you.

Thanks to dropshipping you can start making money ‘instantly’ without any investment in inventory, warehousing, shipping, equipment, employees or office space.

Having products drop shipped by suppliers, allows you to concentrate on truly important aspects like advertising, sales and promotion.

Pay attention! There are lots of companies claiming to be ‘Drop Shippers’. However, a legitimate drop shipper is a factory-authorized wholesale distributor, or sometimes the actual manufacturer of the product. A legitimate drop shipper should not charge you an ‘account setup fee’ or ask you to place a ‘minimum quantity order’.

Make sure you find legitimate drop shippers who have the product(s) you want to sell, talk with them on the phone or by e-mail and let them know that you are truly serious about doing business with them.

Customer support counts in the dropshipping business, so don’t hesitate to contact dropshipping suppliers before you proceed to work with them.

This will help you decide if you really want to do business with a particular drop shipper or not.

To succeed in the dropshipping business you’ll have to LOOK for hard-to-find products that people desperately need and want to purchase.

The key is to sell products with little or no competition.

Do some research for product’s you want to sell that you think will have little or no competition on eBay.

I suggest you RESEARCH for quality products & legitimate dropship suppliers, MONITOR the eBay auction listings to see if there’s any competition and TEST the market (e.g. find out if people really want to spend CASH on the product you want to sell)

Remember! Drop shipping makes it EASY for you to start and run your own home-based businesses on a shoestring budget; and eBay is the ‘perfect’ MEDIUM to expose your product to potential buyers all over the globe!

Autosurf

November 30th, 2007

An autosurf is a type of Pyramid scheme. Autosurfs are traffic exchanges that automatically rotate advertised websites in one’s web browser. Therefore, they are capable of bringing a large amount of traffic to the advertised websites. Members earn credits for each site that they view, which can then be spent to advertise members’ sites by adding them to the autosurf rotation. Sites may additionally be added by external advertisers who pay the autosurf operators.

Concept

Autosurfing is a unique form of advertising: normally, advertisers pay intermediaries to display advertising to their target audience, and the advertising is presented to the audience in places where they are likely to see it, such as in public places, or packaged with entertainment. In this sense, no money changes hands between the audience and the advertiser.

In comparison, autosurfers are paid to view pure advertising (that is, advertisers’ websites) for a certain amount of time (usually, less than 30 seconds). Interested viewers can pause the surf timer or open any site in a new window, giving themselves more time to peruse an ad. If the viewer is not interested and does nothing, the surf timer will restart after the specified period of time and a new site will be loaded into the browser. The surf rotation requires no feedbacks of any kind; in contrast to manual surfs, paid to read email or paid to click sites.

Autosurfing allows members to promote websites of their own choice, according to a system of credits earned by surfing. Members usually earn credits in a fixed ratio to the number of sites they view. Member-promoted websites may or may not be their own websites. If not, they are most often the members’ referral page at another autosurf or an online money-making program. This is because many autosurfs are structured as pyramid schemes: members may earn a commission for each site that their referrals view, and are therefore encouraged to build a downline.

As autosurfs are run from websites, online payment processors are used for members to upgrade and withdraw their profits. The most popular form of e-currency used is e-gold or e-bullion. StormPay was a very popular payment processor until February 2006 but has now converted to an auction site.

“Investment” Autosurfs

A large number of autosurfs are investment autosurfs: to earn money surfing, members must pay a fee and are then promised a certain return on their fee. The “investment” is claimed to be a membership or upgraded membership fee and the “return”, a per-site commission.

In the case of investment autosurfs, members either pay a fee to join and/or to upgrade their account level. This fee can usually vary from a few cents to thousands of dollars, and the minimum and maximum is set by the site operator. The program then offers a commission based on the member’s account level for viewing a minimum number of sites, for example, for a period of X days, every day that the member views Y sites, Z% of the upgrade fee will be credited and can be withdrawn from the site. The product of Z% and X is always over 100% to ensure that the member makes a profit. Members also have even more incentive to build a downline because further commissions are received based on the amount of money that referred members put in or earn.

The investment autosurf concept is against PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy[1]. Historically, Paypal has blocked most autosurf programs’ accounts.

Controversy

A large amount of controversy is concentrated over whether autosurfs are inherently structured as Ponzi schemes. Traffic-only autosurfs that involve no monetary transactions can also be Ponzis if more credits are earned than page views available; older members are promised a certain number of website hits which can only be fulfilled by newer members joining. Due to the precedent set by 12 Daily, there is a strong possibility that most investment autosurfs are Ponzi schemes, and thus breaking the law and/or deceiving their users; whereas paid to surf sites usually had a viable business model where advertisers pay for the site to be viewed but not earn money in return.

On the other hand, autosurfs which require an investment and promise to pay a profit must, to not be a Ponzi, have other sources of income which can yield the high percentages they offer. Therefore, they often come under attack for failing to reveal their income sources or not registering with the proper authorities as a legitimate investment company. Ponzi schemes will end when no new investors are found, and it follows that autosurf sites have rather short lifespans, existing from one week to a few years depending on the popularity and “investment plans” offered.

12DailyPro

12DailyPro was one of the largest autosurfs in 2005. Promising a return of 12% daily for 12 days, funds invested went into the millions. In February of 2006, autosurfs reached the United States national news when funds of members of 12DailyPro were frozen by payment processor StormPay [2].

Rather than focus entirely on StormPay, news organizations such as ABC4 (Utah) and WTOC (Georgia) investigated the autosurf itself. In a statement released by the Georgia Government Consumer Protection Agency titled “Pyramid Schemes Never Die; Just Evolve”, 12DailyPro was closely scrutinized. Media calls to 12DailyPro owner Charis Johnson went unanswered.

Later in February, 12DailyPro was given a cease and desist order by the SEC, who claimed that 95% of the program’s funds came from new members. On February 28, the SEC filed a proposed stipulation, agreed to by the attorney for Charis Johnson, LifeClicks, and 12DailyPro, that these parties would turn over all assets and records to a permanent legal receiver. [3]

2006-Present

After the demise of 12DailyPro, many other autosurfs collapsed as well; this is widely assumed to be because they invested member funds into 12DailyPro, causing a domino effect. Subsequently, autosurfs have become less popular and are more widely believed to be Ponzi schemes. However, many still autosurf, either refusing to accept that they are Ponzi structured, or knowingly using this to profit (through attracting new investors to prolong the life of the program). Also, some autosurfs have begun to focus on the advertising side of their business model, by, for example, converting to manual surf or by paying members bonuses that are not dependent upon the advertising fee. They have introduced disclaimers on their sites saying that purchases are solely for advertising, earnings are payments for viewing advertising and that there is no guarantee of earnings. However, disclaimers do not override the law and thus do not legalize an otherwise fraudulent program.

Money invested in 12DailyPro is currently being held by a court-ordered payment receiver [4].

Adobe, Yahoo monetize PDF Documents

November 29th, 2007

Investor’s Business Daily reports that Yahoo and Adobe Systems plan to start an advertising service to provide more revenue options for content publishers and potentially offer more free content to readers. This service could open up years of archived content such as that of newspapers to wide distribution while leaving monetization options for the publishers who would other have subscription services for access to the content.

Participation would be free for publishers who would submit their content to Adobe for preparation, Yahoo would provide text based ads which would use the standard PPC model used by many internet ad services, such as Yahoo Search Marketing and Google AdWords.

The partnership appears to be a win-win for all involved.

Learn To Make Money On eBay

November 3rd, 2007

by: Jeff Schuman

So you want to sell stuff on eBay, but you have two minor problems: you don’t know how and you don’t have stuff. Not a problem. Keep reading for some tips to get you pointed in the right direction to learn to make money on eBay.

Before you begin you’ll need some basic equipment: Computer, Internet access, digital camera, and some space to put your stuff. That’s really all you’ll need to get started. You’ll also need shipping and packing supplies but that is addressed later.

Next you’ll need to learn how to list auctions. Go to the eBay sellers overview:
http://pages.ebay.com/education/sellingtips/index.html. This will be your lifeline. There is a plethora of information there on everything you always wanted to know and more. Don’t be overwhelmed; just take it one step at a time. You’ll see there is information on listings, on bidding, on photos, on feedback – it’s all there.

Next you’ll need to figure out what to sell. Before you zero in on a particular niche you need some experience and some feedback. Buyers are generally leery of buying from someone who is brand new and has a feedback rating of less than 10 evaluations. While you are getting your feet wet, look around your own house first. You’d be amazed at what people buy. You could list outgrown clothing, magazines, candle holders, CD, books, flannel sheets, recipes, the ugly old lamp that was Aunt Mildred’s, all those goofy Christmas gifts sitting in your basement, that old baby gate with a stain on it. Get the idea? You never know what someone will want.

Although you need experience, you don’t want to list something that isn’t likely to sell. Do your research first before you invest the time in putting together a listing. An easy method to use is do a “search” on eBay, then look up COMPLETED ITEMS, then sort by HIGHEST price. Then you’ll see if your Tommy Bahama shirt is really worth anything. Or you’ll see that your old baseball cards had 23 listings and not one of them sold.

Pricing is another challenge. Again, you’ll need to do your research. See what they’re going for. Don’t have overly high expectations. You know how you feel when you go to a garage sale and you see a pair of jeans for $15 or books for $4 each. Many people come to eBay to look for a bargain. Consider how much you
have into the item. If you have an item from around the house, you may consider that something is better than nothing, so you may be inclined to start the bidding quite low. If you bought it with the specific intention to resell, you will, at the very minimum, want to break even, so take the price you paid for it and consider other costs, i.e. listing fees, final value fees (all explained in your lifeline – eBay seller overview above). People are much more apt to bid if the bidding starts LOW. Sometimes though, you will have collectibles that are worth a
chunk of money. Don’t give away that vintage postcard that is worth $56! Do your homework.

The next big question is how do you get paid? You determine what you would accept. Online payments such as PayPal are very convenient. You can also decide that you’ll accept money orders or personal checks. The more options you leave your uyers, the more likelihood you’ll get more bids.

You also need to decide how you want to ship your items to the winners. Many sellers use USPS, others prefer UPS. If you use USPS and ship via Priority Mail, you can get your envelopes and boxes free from USPS. If you ship First Class or Parcel Post or UPS, you’ll have to shop around for deals on boxes or envelopes and bubble wrap or packing peanuts.

Overwhelmed yet? Yes there is a lot to learn, but it’s not nuclear science. Just take it one step at a time. It’s a
learning process. Some yahoo groups (or MSN or AOL, or whatever your preference) are great sources for support and camaraderie with others who are doing the same.

So in summary, if you want to just “start pushing buttons” and learn to make money on eBay on your own, YOU CAN DO IT. If you do better chatting with others, those resources are available too. Use what is available.

Income Ideas and Money Making Magic

October 2nd, 2007

by: Kay Forgione

Instant Income Generators:
There are obviously many ways to make money online, some simple, some quite complicated…

If you’re relatively new to Internet marketing, this 5-part course is particularly suited for you. It details
one of the most simple, yet most effective formulas for making money online that you’ll find. Trust me, if this course can work for my dad, a retired naval officer who knows next to nothing about online marketing, it can work for you if you simply put it to use.

So with that, let’s get started! Affiliate programs, most of which are free to join, can be an excellent way to make money online. But they, like anything else, require use of the proper tools and resources if you’re to expect any kind of significant success.

That’s the thing. Way too many people hope or even expect to make money online without any type of investment. I can tell you right now, if that is what you’re expecting, you might as well call it quits before you even get started. I am only being honest!

What you should expect is a modest investment of your time and (ideally) money. Though you can succeed without investing a dime, it will likely take you significantly longer than if you’re willing to set aside a small budget specifically for online advertising.

Now, the first step in our 5 part formula is to find one or several good affiliate programs to join. As an affiliate, your job is simply to send visitors to the website hosting the affiliate programs. For each visitor you send who then decides to order, you are paid a commission.

Affiliate programs are attractive for beginners in particular because you don’t have to worry about processing payments, delivering products, & etc. And again, most affiliate programs cost absolutely nothing to participate in. Indeed, these are advantages for most any person looking to make money online, beginner or otherwise.

However… In order to make significant amounts of money through affiliate programs, you’ll still need the proper tools and resources. We’ll cover those later.

Right now it’s time to choose your first affiliate program! You can find various affiliate program directories by doing a search for ‘affiliate program directory’, ‘associate program directory’, etc., at Google.com.

Here is a good directory to start with:

http://www.associateprograms.com

Now, when choosing affiliate programs, here are 10 keys to look for:

  1. Ideally, choose an affiliate program that promotes products or services you enjoy!
  2. Choose a program that offers high commissions, preferably 30% or higher.
  3. Look for programs that offer residual, weekly or monthly income.
  4. Look for a program that offers a product you would purchase yourself. Chances are, if you’re interested in the product, many others are as well.
  5. Look for a program with a good sales conversion rate. You can email the program operator and ask for statistics and proof of sales conversion rates.
  6. Choose an affiliate program that provides a good set of promotional tools and resources that you can use to promote the program.
  7. Look for a program that caters to a growing market or target audience.
  8. Watch out for pyramid schemes. Participate only in programs that offer real, viable products.
  9. Look for a program that targets a wide audience - not a small niche that could be saturated quickly.
  10. Look for a programs that pay. Luckily, it’s a small percentage, but there are dishonest program operators out there. If necessary, ask the program operator for the contact info of a few other affiliates.

One affiliate program that meets all of the above criteria, besides points 1 and 4 which you’ll have to determine for yourself, is the program you’ll find here:

http://www.pushbuttonpublishing.com/affiliates/t.php?rid=3022

(Click on the “Get Paid” button after reaching the page above)

PushButtonPublishing.com or PBP as we’ll call it, provides online business owners and affiliates with virtually everything needed to start and run an online business (of most any type) in one convenient location, for one unbeatable price or for FREE by referring just one new PBP member per month!

Learn more about this excellent resource:

http://www.pushbuttonpublishing.com/affiliates/t.php?rid=3022

So, if Internet marketing and making money online is “your thing” and I’ll assume it is since you’re reading this course, I highly recommend signing up for the PBP affiliate program as I’m confident it will be one of your top performing programs. And don’t forget, it will never cost you a penny to join and participate as a PBP affiliate. You are offered the same commissions as monthly members!

Tomorrow, stay tuned for Part 2 of 5 Simple Steps to an Internet Cashflow … for Newbies!
And make sure you’ve signed up for at least one good affiliate program by then (if not PBP, then another program that you feel comfortable with)!

Here for Your Success,

Get More Website Visitors Without Going Broke

September 13th, 2007

by: Jim Edwards Copyright 2005 Jim Edwards

In the never-ending quest to make money online, every website owner wants to get traffic to their website fast.

The main problem they face: finding traffic that converts into buyers without breaking their bank.

In their haste to get the traffic they need, many website operators start throwing money at the problem buying ads and exhaust their advertising budget without any meaningful profit (unless you count the person they paid for the advertising).

The following three rules should help any business, big or small, make money with their online advertising.

Set An Online Advertising Budget

Most businesses, especially smaller ones with only a few people (or even one person), don’t operate with an advertising budget.

The advertising money gets spent when everything else gets paid, or worse, they spend money on advertising without a plan so they’re basically gambling with their money.

By setting an advertising budget, you can factor it into your overall business picture and it gives you a yardstick to measure results.

If you budget $500 a month to advertise and look for ways to spend that money wisely, then your business will grow more predictably than if you advertise sporadically and then wonder why you don’t operate with a predictable income stream.

Follow The Numbers

Unlike offline advertising on billboards, magazines or in direct mail, you can track virtually all aspects of an online ad, including: how many people saw the ad; how many people clicked the ad; how many sales and how much revenue the ad generated.

Since you can track everything, you can test various phases of the advertising process.

Regardless of whether you operate a real estate agent website, sell an ebook, or hawk your plumbing services online, you can and should measure each phase of the advertising process.

If clicks on your ads fall below expectations, then work on your ad until it generates a healthy click-through rate turning viewers into website visitors.

If you don’t convert very many of the website visitors you get into buyers, then your site needs work to do a better job of selling people.

By following the numbers, you can see where you need to focus in the online sales process.

The number one rule of online advertising: use a unique tracking link for each and every one of your ads, preferably one that tracks not only unique visitors, but also sales.

This might add an extra 5 or 10 minutes of work to placing each ad, but it will allow you to see which ads make a profit (so you can run them again) and which ads don’t (so you can change or cancel them).

Go Beyond Pay-Per-Click

Google AdWords and Overture, the Web’s top pay-per-click advertising sources, have made people lazy.

Many website owners never go beyond buying advertising from these two. However, a whole world of advertising exists buying ads on websites targeted to specific niche audiences.

Pay Per Click Advertising Works If You Do It Right

May 17th, 2007

by: Jeff Schuman

The fastest way to get your product or service out to the marketplace is with a pay per click advertising campaign. In a matter of minutes you can be on page one of some of the most popular keywords relating to the theme of your website.

A pay per click advertising campaign is easy to start. You will open an account and deposit some money as a starting balance with the search engine company that you are advertising with. To start you enter your site’s URL, title and description and bid on relevant keywords. A site selling jewlery would bid on keywords such as, “jewelry,” “gold jewelry,” “silver jewlery” etc.

When someone searches for “jewelry” the details of your site appear, in the form of a search result with the URL, title and description you entered. If they then click on your listing, your account is debited the amount you have bid on that keyword.

What makes this so effective is that someone who has searched for your product is already qualified when they come to your site, which is selling the product or service they are looking for.

It is important that your keywords are relevant and link to the page that contains information relating to that keyword.

Also be sure and only bid on keywords for the minimum bid amount when you are first starting. Generally you can bid as low as 05 cents on lesser searched keywords. This strategy makes it more affordable for you as you learn how to use pay per click advertising more profitably. It will take you more keywords to get the traffic you want, but it will cost you less.

An excellent source for information on pay per click advertising is payperclicksearchengines.com. You can find out everything from how to set up your own campaign to the top 10 pay per click search engines to advertise with. You will find ideas and articles on pay per click search engine advertising or pay per click internet advertising as it is also called. Here’s that website:

http://www.payperclicksearchengines.com

The key to pay per click advertising lies in choosing keywords that people are searching for, but spending the least amount of money doing it. This will take you some time to develop your own list of keywords, but once you have done that you are off and running.

Assuming you have a product or service that people will buy there is no end to the amount of money you can make. You are only limited by the amount of websites you want to build and the time you want to spend managing your pay per click advertising campaign.

The bottom line is this. Pay Per Click programs allow you to compete with the big boys in your niche. A targeted advertising campaigin is a very fast way to get on top of the search engines without spending hours and hours optimizing your own website with the search engines.

If you have a small amount of money to get started then there is no reason not to use the pay per click strategy. As your website becomes more profitable you can reinvest some of your profits back into more advertising and more expensive keywords.

This is exciting. You are off and running with your own pay per click advertising program and making sales that your competition isn’t because you have mastered this targeted advertising medium.

Top Ways To Create Ideas For Your Next Highly Read Article

May 16th, 2007

by: Steve Searls

If you want to make money online a good strategy that won’t cost you a dime is to write articles that relate to your product or service.

Search Engines are constantly on the “look out” for freshly written content that has been submitted online. So how do you come up with ideas for your next article? Here are several suggestions that may help…

* Hang out in online forums. Watch what people are talking about. Look at the questions they are asking. The topics that are bringing the greatest number of visitors would make for an excellent article.

* Take a look at what information is being broadcast on TV, radio, newspapers, and online. This information is usually a hot topic.

* Read blogs. What are people posting about? What kind of comments are they leaving? What questions do they have? Blogs are the hot internet marketing medium right now and you can literally find them everywhere on any topic. This is an excellent source for your next article idea.

* Survey your current customers or website visitors. Ask them what kind of article they would like to see in your next ezine or published on your website.

* Check bookstores online. What are the top sellers? This can be a good way to come up with an article that catches the attention of what people are reading.

* Be seasonal. Write about what is going on that time of year. Holidays, festivals, sports, graduations, etc. all make for an article that someone will want to read.

* Write an article about a current fad. There is always something that is hot at the time and could make for interesting reading from you.

* Keep track of what your customers and prospects are asking you. If you get an email or phone call with a question this may make for a good article. Others may have the same question, but are afraid to ask it.

* Start a swipe file on what others are writing about. If it is of interest to you it will probably be of interest to others. Never plagiarize the work of others, but you can certainly get good ideas this way. The biggest benefit of a swipe file is having it handy to refer back to over and over whenever you are ready to write your article and are not sure what you want to write about.

If you still find it hard to write about your idea, you can hire a professional to ghostwrite it for you. The costs are minimal and, considering what’s at stake, it could be the best investment you ever make.

Here’s a couple of resources to find professionally written articles.

http://www.elance.com

http://www.dmmarket.com/igr

Hopefully this will give you some ideas on how to come up with your next article. The internet marketer who can write interesting articles has a huge leg up on their competition. If you can master this strategy there is no limit to how much money you can make online.

Why Building Affiliate Websites Are the Way to Go

May 15th, 2007

by: Jason Gazaway

It seems that everybody is into making money online these days. By far, the largest market place in the world is right there in front of you within the cyber world of the internet. But what is the simplest and easiest way to make money online? Well, affiliate marketing nowadays is the very common and the most popular method of earning money online.

In addition, affiliate marketing allows you to make money online by earning commissions off sub-affiliates, people you have brought on to be affiliates of the parent company. These two-tiered affiliates may seem like a pyramid scheme, but the point is, it generates a tremendous amount of traffic to your site as well as to your partners’ sites, which helps everyone make money online.

So, what is the first thing you will need? It is to build your own website and decide how much you are willing to spend on your site. Nevertheless, to online your business is buried among millions of websites. As a start-up internet business, you have several options and several things to consider. Anything from setting up a free account on one of the countless blog sites, to paying thousands of dollars to professionals for the design and hosting.

Keep in mind that people can’t just falter upon it accidentally. It’s like spinning your wheels yet you are getting nowhere, or you are talking, but no one’s listening. You have you establish your presence and make your own site. You need to advertise and promote constantly. Most importantly, make a lasting impression so next time a customer is in the market for your type of product, they will never forget your site over someone else with similar products. Remember that everyone from industrial giants to corner flower shops now wants to stake a profitable claim in cyberspace. Building affiliate website is just a much better in promoting products as an affiliate.

However, if you have an affiliate website, you can list other people’s websites on yours and become an affiliate, making money online through sales commissions every time someone goes to their site through yours and makes a purchase. You can make anywhere from 5% to 30% just by advertising their link.

But if you have none, better yet build your own affiliate website. A website is not like putting a convenient store on a corner and every person will see it as they pass by, and stop. If you do not advertise your site in some form, no one will know you’re on the web. The old saying “if you build it, they will come” just isn’t true when it comes to opening a website.

Building and promoting affiliate websites is not an easy task. With the web these days growing at a substantial rate, juts about everywhere you turn on the web, you will see offers to own your own business. A lot of these offers are justifiable businesses with real products and items waiting for you to open on of their affiliate sites and start selling. They can sound very good and get you excited, tell you that you can make tons of money. But then, be very careful, you have to consider a lot of things before you can keep on.

Remember that there are also downfalls to having an affiliate website; bear in mind that you probably won’t have much control over it, the bad thing is sometimes, none at all. First, you may not have the power to control over the ad banners that appears on your site, you won’t have control over the content, links or text links and on some of them, you may not be able to control the keywords or optimize the site for the search engines, or maybe even see your daily traffic or check your status, like how many visitors have you gotten and how many items you have sold.

On the other hand, building affiliate sites can also be a good thing if you are looking for a low maintenance way to have a business on the web. Affiliate websites can also give you a reasonably good income once you become established and if you know where you can pick up some local traffic just through your friends of neighbors.

Getting some heavy duty traffic will become your main goal when you are about to open an affiliate website. However, building and advertising a website can be flat out expensive, even scary. So once you have your website, handle it wisely.

What Does it Take to Make Money Online?

May 11th, 2007

by: Darrell Knox
What a loaded question! Let’s narrow that down a bit and take it from the perspective of someone who wants to work from home and make money online in a home business. That will make it an easier question to answer.
Let’s assume you’ve never had a website, don’t know how to get a merchant account, don’t know html, and are pretty much stuck with being an expert on sending and receiving email.

What’s there for you to do online to make money? Lots, in fact! These days are not at all like a couple of years ago or even six months ago. If I only had all the opportunities to make money online when I started marketing!

Here is a list of things you can do with just a website and a hosting account today:

Sell affiliate products (products like reports, ebooks, hard goods of every conceivable make, model, size, shape and function, and much, much more). Sell services (do you know how big a business being a Virtual Assistant is these days? It’s quite amazing what you can do for people without ever meeting them face-to-face, anywhere in the world!) Online auctions (eBay has made thousands and thousands of people full-time incomes from auctioning collectibles, antiques, and even brand new equipment and gadgets of all imaginable types. You name it, it has been sold on eBay!) Membership sites: Know of any groups of people that would love to get insider information on virtually any topic? You could make money online with a membership site!

The list is a long one and one I am not prepared to detail here. You have found your way onto the net and if you have been surfing for very long at all you know it is a gigantic super shopping mall. Who to you think is making the most money online? Aside from big corporations, most of the web is made up of sites put up by little businesses people work from home.

I sell information and I love it. Most of the products I sell are other merchants’ products. I just drive traffic to my site, provide information, and point to relevant products related to the information I provide people looking for a way to make money online. I love helping people make their first few sales.

After that, they are always hooked and cannot do enough to learn everything there is to know about how to make money online. Many people I have worked with now have a couple to several websites selling everything from reports to hard goods that can be shipped direct to their customers. Most people start out to make money online as affiliates of certain products or authors. This is a great way to get your feet wet and learn what making money online is all about. People then either work to create their own products (which they get 100% of the profits from) or expand their website into other related niches.
